  2.            *** Doom Cheats List (3rd revision, 18/3/94) ***

  4. Note: the only cheats that work in NiGhTmArE mode are iddt and idclev.
  5. See below for what they do. In any other skill level, ALL the cheats
  6. work.
  7.  
  8. Whilst just playing as normal, type the following to get the specified
  9. effects:
  10.  
  11. iddqd - God mode (can't be harmed by anything!)
  12.  
  13. idkfa - You get max ammo, max health, max armour and max weapons. This
  14.         cheat is more effective if you've found a backpack (if you have
  15.         a backpack, then using the cheat gets you twice as much ammo as
  16.         without a backpack).
  17.  
  18. idspispopd - Walk through walls (zero clipping, they call it). Type
  19.              this again to turn it off. You can't activate teleporters,
  20.              pick up things, etc., when this mdoe is on. Plus, it can
  21.              be tricky to fight the bad guys because their gun blasts,
  22.              etc. can knock you through a wall!).
  23.  
  24. idbehold - followed by pressing one of S, V, I, R, A or L gets you
  25.            various things (like invisibility, power-up, et.c.). I find
  26.            the most useful to be 'L', which gives the same effect as
  27.            the light amp. 
  28.  
  29. idclev - followed by episode number and level number, will warp you to
  30.          that episode and level.
  31.  
  32. idmypos - display co-ords in hex.
  33.  
  34. idchoppers - this code gives you the chainsaw. Press '1' to use it. See
  35.              below for details of how to use chainsaw/fist when you
  36.              also have a berserker box.

  39. Whilst in MAP mode (ie. after having pressed the TAB key):
  40.  
  41. iddt - type once: show entire map,
  42.        type twice: show all monsters as well,
  43.        type a third time: back to normal.
  44.

  46. The following are NOT cheats, just normal commands:
  47.  
  48. f - toggle follow mode. When off, you can move the map around with the
  49.     mouse/arrow keys/trackball/whatever. When on, the mouse/arrow keys,
  50.     etc. will move YOU around, not the map! Zoom right in to see what
  51.     I mean. This can actually be very useful for navigating complicated
  52.     areas after all the bad guys are dead, and for seeing whether
  53.     you're still standing on a ledge, etc. (eg 5 pillars room in E1L9).
  54.     Hmm... occurs to me that ten, twelve, years ago THIS would have
  55.     been the whole game! Doesn't time fly...
  56.  
  57. + and - keys: Zoom into and out of the map respectively.
  58.  
  59. g - display grid over map.
  60.  
  61. m - mark a position on the map.
  62.  
  63. c - clear the marks.
  64.  
  65. 0 - toggle between zoomed and full view.
  66.  
  67. Most of the above are 'toggle' type controls. i.e. Type a command once
  68. to activate it, type it again to turn it off.

  71. Chainsaw/Fist toggling:
  72.  
  73. NB: if you have not found a berserker box, then:
  74.  
  75.        - if you don't have a chainsaw, pressing 1 gives you a hand.
  76.  
  77.        - if you do have a chainsaw, pressing 1 gives you the chainsaw.
  78.  
  79.     if you HAVE found a berserker box, then:
  80.  
  81.        - if you don't have a chainsaw, pressing 1 gives you a fist.
  82.  
  83.        - if you DO have a chainsaw, you can toggle between fist and
  84.          chainsaw by repeatedly pressing 1. Also, even though the red
  85.          colour fades, the berserk effect lasts for the whole of the
  86.          current level you're on.

  101. iddt          - Toggle map detail (can use in Map Mode only).
